Driving disownership

Millennials are driving the disownership trend, literally and figuratively. For the auto market specifically, teenagers and young adults are obtaining their licenses later, and hurting car sales by doing so. Partly, they are choosing to drive less in order to be more sustainable. For example, the University of Dayton is encouraging students to leave their cars at home by giving out free bicycles. Despite it all, automakers are fighting the trend by adding features that appeal to the desire for digital that most Millennials share. Audi, for example, has developed a thermal camera in its new S7. While night vision alone may not be enough to attract young drivers to buy more cars, automakers have more innovations on their way.
